Concrete Cracking > Concrete Breaking > RAF Marham, Norfolk

Client: BAM Nuttall
Contract: Breakout, Taxiway

Webfell Minerals were awarded the contract for the Concrete Breakout of the taxiway at RAF Marham, Norfolk. Some 55,000m? of PQ concrete slab, ranging from 450mm to 600mm in depth, was broken out at 200mm to 300mm centres. The treated concrete was then lifted with excavators, loaded into 25 tonne dump trucks, transported to a crushing plant and crushed to a type one material which will be re-used on site.

The work was carried out with two Guillotine Breakers with 2.4 metre blades, weighing 5.75 tonnes each. This method is fast, clean and cost effective.
